19-year-old woman seriously injured in Wandsworth crash – can you help police?

Detectives are appealing to the public for any information after a car failed to stop at a collision in Wandsworth.

At around 10.25pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 24th), a BMW driving along Trinity Road in SW18 – which is near Wandsworth Common – hit some trees and a lamp post.

A 19-year-old woman passenger was seriously injured. The driver of the car – a 28-year-old man – suffered minor injuries.

The driver has not been arrested.

Police said they “believe the BMW was being driven at speed close to a white Mercedes, possibly an AMG model, at the time of the collision.

“The driver of the Mercedes did not stop at the scene. The Mercedes may not have been directly involved in the collision, and as such the driver is sought as a potentially significant witness,” they added.

Anyone with information should call detectives at the Collision Investigation Unit in Merton by calling 020 8543 5157 or via 101.

Alternatively you can tweet police at @MetCC.
