A passenger was rescued in Bromley as a bus ploughed into a shopping centre

A passenger was rescued in Bromley as a bus ploughed into a glass shelter outside a shopping centre.

The bus smashed the glass canopy at the entrance of Intu Bromley at 3pm yesterday.

Images of the crash swiftly went up on social media, as passengers were lifted to safety by fire crews.

“The bus has hit the canopy,” says Simon Ashman, who works as a fishmonger at B & J Fisheries in the road.

“I heard the police and fire engines turn up and went out to see them using a ladder to lift injured people out of the front window.”
