Do you regularly travel to or from Oxford?

Do you regularly travel to or from Oxford? Your journey could be about to get much speedier thanks to a £300m+ new rail track linking Marylebone station to the university city.

The service, to be run by Chiltern Railways, will launch on December 12th.

An old, slow branch line has been transformed thanks to large investment from Network Rail and Chiltern Railways itself, and can now take trains going up to 100mph.

“With the track now laid from our new station Oxford Parkway through to Oxford city centre, we can look forward to the first trains running on 12 December,” said Dave Penney, from Chiltern.

“The new rail line will bring significant social, economic and environmental benefits to those living and working along the route and will be the completion of first new rail link between a major British city and London for over 100 years.”
