First glimpse inside the new £1bn development planned for North Greenwich

This is what the area around North Greenwich station could look like in the years to come.

Designer Santiago Calatrava has been commissioned by property developers to plan the new buildings in what will be known as “Peninsula Place”.

The £1bn scheme will include tower blocks, apartments and a winter garden.

Calatrava’s previous design credits include the Olympic Park in Athens.

“Peninsula Place will create a new buzzing, cultural destination in the capital, which I’m confident will attract visitors not only from London, but around the globe,” said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.
