“Gotta catch and deport them all”: racist Pokemon stickers found across London

Police are set to investigate racist mock Pokemon posters – titled “Pakemon” – which have appeared across London’s transport network.

One of the stickers is aimed at outgoing US President Barack Obama, describing him as “Obamabinlyin” and calling him “Muslim in Chief”.

Another sticker, aimed at Mayor Sadiq Khan, says: “He believes that Londoners should learn to accept Islamic terrorism while he is mayor.”

The subheading “gotta catch and deport ’em all” is based on the real Pokemon franchise’s tagline, “gotta catch ’em all”.

British Transport Police, in a statement, re-iterated that it was “committed to preventing incidents of hate crime and prejudice”.

“Everyone has the right to travel on the rail network without fear or intimidation. Racially or religiously motivated crime will simply not be tolerated,” the force said.
