“Haunted House” Halloween party goes wrong as house sets on fire

It’s the stuff of many people’s nightmares: this was the scene in Kensal Rise last night when the fire brigade were summoned to a “Haunted House” Halloween party that was on fire and engulfed in smoke.

A detached house on Mount Pleasant Road (near Willesden Sports Ground) was gutted in the blaze. Six fire engines were unable to save the house, which was hosting the spooky event at the time.

The Brigade arrived just before 5am, and the fire was under control just before 7am.
