London’s first “crisp cafe” has opened in Soho – charging £4.50 for a box

London’s first ever “crisp cafe” has opened, giving diners in Soho a variety of sweet and savoury dipping options to go with the humble potato chip.

Hipchips, on Old Compton Street, offers a wide selection of dips to go with your crispy snacks, including baba ganoush and katsu curry.

“Everyone likes crisps, but what you can get in the shops is fairly average. We are using the best ingredients to make a high-end product,” chef Scott Davies told the Evening Standard.

“We wanted to give people something a bit different – I don’t think there is anyone doing something like this in the country, or even the world.”

Prices start at £4.50 for a small box with two dips, and go up to £6.75 for a medium box with three and £11.50 for a large with six.
