Man stole handbag outside Romford B&Q as victim loaded her Christmas tree into the car

Do you recognise this man? Police in Havering have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with a theft from a car outside a B&Q in Romford.

On 5th December last year, police were called around 1pm to reports of a theft from the vehicle at the store in Tangent Link, Harold Hill.

“A handbag with over £2,000 worth of belongings was stolen,” police said.

“The victim was loading a Christmas tree into the rear of her car when the suspect took the bag from the driver’s seat.

“CCTV of a suspect was indentified at a McDonalds restaurant in Bryant Avenue, Romford after the victim used the ‘find my phone’ app,” police added.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his 30s, and with short black hair and beard.

He was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and black trainers.

Police Constable Sam Barton, from Havering borough, added: “We are keen to identify the man in the CCTV footage so we can speak to him about the incident. We would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.”
