Mayor distances himself from “offensive” tweets made by new Night Czar

London Assembly members today took Mayor Sadiq Khan to task over a series of tweets made by his newly-appointed Night Czar – one of which included the word “c**t”.

Amy Lame, whose new job was announced earlier this month, was revealed to have accused former Prime Minister David Cameron of using his dead son as a “pawn” in a tweet from before her appointment.

And she also described former Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne as a “c**t”.

But Khan hit back at AM Gareth Bacon’s concerns over the tweets, saying that his questioners were playing on “petty differences” and suggesting they should work together with Lame.

He said he did not condone the posts.

Other tweets released by Ms Lame included one expressing disappointment that the Queen was still alive, and another described how she wished she was “bitch-slapping” Cameron.

Lame is an entertainer and DJ, originally from New Jersey, who was Mayoress of Camden in 2010-2011.
