The most popular locations for the tourists staying with Airbnb are in face not in the heart of the capital as you could expect – but in the East End.
The most popular location, with 94% of the available homes available on the site occupied.
It has been assumed that this is because its good linked with the West End and the City – yet still remaining more affordable than more central districts.
The average nightly rate for accommodation for four people in Tower Hamlets is just £151, compared to £226 in Westminster.
“The popularity of Tower Hamlets and Hackney is down to good transport links, trendy reputation and competitive rates: factors prized by millennials, the people most likely to book Airbnb,” says My Property Host MD Elena Lopez.
“But as Airbnb’s popularity increases among families and business travellers the map is likely to be redrawn. Larger Zone 2 and 3 homes will appeal to families and we expect City properties to do well with corporate travellers.”
