Natural History Museum voted most popular among Londoners – but few like the Globe

Have you been to the Natural History Museum? If you haven’t, you’re in the minority – it’s the most popular tourist attraction in London for locals, according to new research.

YouGov has found that 69% of the city’s residents have been, while the Science Museum is second on 66%. London Zoo (in the news this week for an escaped gorilla) comes third on 65%, joint with the London Eye and Tower Bridge.

The National Portrait Gallery and the Globe Theatre performed poorly, coming in at the bottom with 45% and 33% respectively.

Young people are most likely to have visited the London Eye, and are less likely to have visited religious buildings. Over 65s, however, are 38% more likely to have gone to look around the glorious St Paul’s in the City.

Men, apparently, are way more likely than women to have visited the Imperial War Museum.
