Police appeal after five-year-old boy shockingly murdered in South London

Detectives need your help after a five-year-old boy was shockingly murdered in South London.

Police were called to a hospital in London this Monday at around 1.45am to reports of a child with critical head injuries.

He died the next day.

A man was arrested and then charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, and is currently remanded in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes said: “We are appealing to find any witnesses who were in, or near to, Mountsfield Park, Catford between approximately 17:15hrs and 18:45hrs on Sunday, 20 November, and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything regarding an incident involving a man in the company of a child.”

The park in Catford where the incident took place will play host to officers this weekend holding a one-week-on appeal.
