Police are looking for a man who assaulted a bus driver in Croydon

Do you recognise this man? Police wish to speak to him regarding an attack on a bus driver back in April 2016 on the number 75 bus.

The bus was parked outside Fairfield Halls near The Queen’s Gardens in Croydon when the incident took place.

“The victim, a 53-year-old bus driver, was checking the upper deck of the bus when he heard the bus door open,” said police.

“He went downstairs to the lower deck and was approached by a man who punched and kicked him several times, knocking him to the floor.

“The victim sustained a large cut to his forehead as well as substantial bruising. The ambulance service treated the victim for head injuries before taking him to hospital. He has since recovered from his injuries but is still suffering from emotional trauma,” police added.

The suspect is described by police as a light-skinned black man who is aged between 25 and 35 years.

He is of large build and is approximately 6ft tall, with dark afro style hair (tied back) and a beard. He was wearing a green hooded “Puffa” style coat.

There have been no arrests.
