Sadiq tells Americans to come to London if they don’t want to live under Trump

Mayor Sadiq Khan has called for “talented” Americans looking to get out of the USA after Donald Trump’s victory last week to consider London.

Speaking alongside Google bosses yesterday as they discussed plans for a new London HQ, Khan repeated his mantra that “London is open”

“Millions of people, I’m told, used Google’s search engine post the election on Tuesday, We know millions use it every single day,” he said.

“I heard one of the most-Googled things since Wednesday has been ‘how do you emigrate?’

“If talented people based in the US want to come here to London, my message is simple: London is open,” he said.

And in a jibe at the Canadian immigration website, which went viral after it crashed due to high interest last week, he joked: “And our website’s not going to crash.”
