Londoners going through Victoria were left baffled on their morning commutes today after TfL’s online journey planner referred to the station as “Elephant Park”.

The reason for the amusing computer bug’s choice of name has not been established.
The station is not located close to a zoo or to the Elephant and Castle area of London, and nearby Green Park does not have any clear links to the large-eared mammal.
One tongue-in-cheek Twitter user suggested the name was a misspelled reference to the term “white elephant”, given the recent building of a new entrance to Victoria.
@_dpaj Probably a typo. Should read White elephant park 🙄more wasted money on a new glass and metal aberration in town

A TfL boss told the Evening Standard: “We’re really sorry that Victoria is not displaying correctly.
“A bug in the system has led to this and we’re fixing it. Victoria station will soon be showing up correctly.”
