The festive season is here: Craig David turns on Oxford Street Christmas lights in style

Christmas is here: Oxford Street’s festive lights went live yesterday after singer Craig David hit the “on” button last night.

Various other famous faces including band The Vamps and Mayor Sadiq Khan also turned up.

People on social media were loving the spectacle. One wrote: “I seen one of the most beautiful thing of my life in London. Thanks London”.

There were reports in some publications that some of the lights didn’t go on straight away.

“Only six out of 250 light lines didn’t go on but were on in a matter of minutes. The excitement of the switch on wasn’t affected,” an event spokesperson told the Evening Standard in a statement.
