These gorgeous kittens had a lucky escape this week

These gorgeous kittens had a lucky escape this week after their pregnant mum was abandoned and gave birth in a tumble dryer.

The owner of a dry cleaning shop on Romford Road in Lewisham summoned the Celia Hammond Animal Trust when he heard meows. He then opened up the back of the machine and the cute felines were rescued.

Celia Hammond, of the trust, told ITV: “We picked up the kittens from the back of a dry cleaning machine on Romford Road.

“A couple had abandoned their pregnant ginger cat.

“They live next door to a dry cleaners and the cat found her way in there and decided to give birth in a dry cleaning machine.

“When the owner of the shop arrived at work that day he called us because he heard miaowing coming from the back of the machine.

“He was very helpful – he completely removed the back of the machine to help us rescue the kittens.

“They were just sitting there, smelling strongly of urine, at the back of the machine.

“We needed to get them out of there as there were strong carbon tetra-chloride fumes.”

A big WELL DONE to all involved in rescuing these young cats!
