“They could become violent”: police warn against men who escaped from Pentonville

These are the men who are on the run from Pentonville after escaping with makeshift equipment – rumoured to be as simple as tied-up bedsheets.

People are asked not to approach the men as they could become violent, police said. Call 999 if you see them.

James Anthony Whitlock, 31, “was on remand having been charged with conspiracy to burgle, namely 19 offences of theft from ATMs at various locations in the south-east of England between December 2015 and August 2016,” said police. He is described as a white man of slim build.

The other escapee, 28-year-old Matthew Baker, “was found guilty of attempted murder two weeks ago having stabbed a man in Dagenham following a dispute. He had been remanded for sentencing on 11 November.” He is described as a white man with ginger hair.

As well as 999, you can also anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
